As a huge fan of the comic book series, it’s great to see this getting a proper adaptation to television, courtesy of Frank Darabont. Darabont is really, really happy with the result and says he’d be happy to go on making this show for years. And there’s plenty of material in the comics for them to use (it debuted in 2003, so there’s already 76 issues in the can). Yeah, the opening may be swiped from 28 Days Later, which came out six months or so before the comics launched, but that just serves as a jumping off point and the series showcases a host of characters and their relationships with each other. Props to AMC for producing a zombie series, and on such a high production level. Again, this doesn’t release in theatres, so you’ll have to tune in to AMC on Halloween for the 90 minute premiere episode.
